Secara fisik, Sony Camcorder NX1 tidak jauh berbeda dengan saudara nya Sony NX3. Sama-sama mempunyai fitur sensor Exmor CMOS 1/2.8-inchi yang menghasilkan kualitas gambar / video yang luar biasa serta Dual media slot untuk relay recording sekaligus dalam AVCHD 2.0 (1080/50p).
Namun perbedaannya terdapat pada fitur Optical Zoom dan Clear Image Zoom. Sony Camcorder NX1 hanya memiliki 15x Optical Zoom dan 30x Clear Image Zoom. Cukup terasa dibandingkan dengan NX3 yang memiliki 20x Optical Zoom dan 40x Clear Image Zoom. 1 hal lagi, Sony Camcorder NX1 tidak memiliki Wifi sebagai konektifitas.
