Lensa EF-S 18-200mm IS adalah lensa zoom equivalent 28.8-320mm yang mencakup wide-angle hingga jarak telephoto. Menggunakan aspherical dan ultra-low dispersion elements, color fringing, chromatic aberrations, dan spherical aberrations dikontrol dengan baik untuk tingkat ketajaman, akurasi warna, dan kejernihan yang tinggi. Lapisan Super Spectra juga telah diterapkan untuk menekan flare dan ghosting guna meningkatkan kontras.
Melengkapi kemampuan imaging adalah sistem Image Stabilizer four-stop-effective yang meminimalkan munculnya goyangan kamera untuk pemotretan genggam yang lebih tajam. Selain itu, DC Micro Motor autofocus system menghasilkan kinerja pemfokusan cepat dan jarak pemfokusan minimum 45 cm tersedia untuk pemotretan jarak dekat.
